How would you describe your average day at AIPEX?
No day at AIPEX is ever the same as I have been fortunate enough to work on a variety of clients projects and embrace the different cultures and business
philosophies at each company. My days are normally spent discussing problems and proposing solutions for our clients to ensure a robust result is delivered.
Part of my day which is also very enjoyable and rewarding is spent mentoring my peers.
Describe the type of work you do and the projects you work on?
Being part of the AIPEX Integration and Enterprise Architecture line of business enables me to be involved in large-scale integration projects. My role
varies from architecting and developing EAI and workflow solutions for clients, to troubleshooting integration implementations
What exposure have you had to some big name clients?
The AIPEX name commands respect in the IT Services circles.I have had the opportunity to work on enterprise-grade systems handling millions of
transactions per day with clients as large as Telstra to cutting-edge clients like Sensis, and as diverse as overseas investment bank Aozora Bank, on-site in
Tokyo.
What training have you had whilst working at AIPEX?
AIPEX provides a variety of training that is relevant to my field, including TIBCO amp; GoldenSource. In addition, I have had the opportunities to network
with peers and colleagues at conferences related to Integration and Enterprise Architecture.
How much exposure do you really have to senior management?
The senior management team is very approachable and are always available when I have any questions , issues or new ideas to bring to the table. And from a
social aspect, you can always find them there at all the social events enjoying the company of all staff members.
What has been the most interesting project you have worked on and why?
I was part of a team assigned to an ETL and EDM project with Aozora Bank in Tokyo. Not only did this opportunity provide new technical challenges and
exposure to the finance and investment industry, it also provided an insight into the diversity of working cultures. From this project, I learnt that there is
more to Japan than just raw fish!
What do you like about working with AIPEX?
Working with AIPEX has always been about the great camaraderie amongst the staff. My colleagues are always helpful and there is no doubt that being in a
team with talented people produces great results. Coupled with a great social culture of networking and laughing ensures there is always a fun and positive
culture at AIPEX.
Describe your career path with AIPEX:
The career options at AIPEX are varied and interesting. Since starting as a developer on a Sensis project, I have been able to progress into ETL projects
at Aozora BAnk, and move to a Technical Lead and Integration Architect role on other various projects. Being part of the AIPEX Leadership Group, has given me
the opportunity to develop other facets of my professional development including team leading and mentoring internal staff members.
What is your next career goal?
AIPEX is committed to helping their customers to focus on Enterprise Architecture (EA) and I am starting to be exposed to this concept and are
subsequently beginning to appreciate how valuable a good EA can be and see this is a career path I wish to explore further.
